Interview with out Taxidermist...

Contact: (Owner/Manager) Tony/Dominique Physical Address: 3 Industria Rd, Louis Trichardt 0920 R.S.A. Tel Office: +27 15 516 1081 Mobile: + 27 725 774 3768 Email: info@fieldandstream.co.za Website: www.fieldandstream.co.za Tell us a little about your operation It all started with childhood stories of hunting in the then Northern Rhodesia, now Zambia. What inspired me most was a book my late mother gave me on my seventh birthday, titled What animal is it? about the Kruger Park animals. It started as a hobby and being entirely self-taught, many mistakes were made along the way, but my love for hunting and nature triumphed and with the teamwork of all our excellent staff we have succeeded and built a solid reputation over the past 34 years. How many years in business? Since 1986 What are your favorite mounts & why? Custom full mounts and Kudu shoulder mounts, as no two are ever the same. Any specialty areas you have in the business? Pedestal mounts Current processes offered Pick up & collect trophies: Yes Maximum distance offered to collect trophies? No maximum Own tanning facilities: Yes Do you buy in forms or sculpt your own: Sculpt Delivery time (approximate) Dip and Pack: 3 Months European mounts: 8 months Shoulder mounts: 6 months Full mounts: 1 year General Comments We offer a full–on service for our outfitters and clients, if you need a giraffe or rhino skinned for a full mount we can assist you with that, we are also open for business after hours by appointment as we know how valuable hunting time is for our clients. We are happy to visit clients in their hunting camp and discuss various options for their trophies, however it is always better to visit our showroom and see all the available options for mounts and side products. Our showroom is certainly something to see. We have a private collection of approximately a 150 different species from around the world, many of which are full body mounts. Many ideas can be gleaned from the mounts on display and this also gives many novice African hunters an idea of size and appearance of the animals.

A visit to our showroom gives us the opportunity to meet you and give you a tour of our facility to put your mind at ease that your trophies will be left in good hands. We are registered exporters with Department of Trade and Industry and also a Veterinary Approved facility which means we conform the standards and norms of the South African Veterinary Services for exporting taxidermists. We recommend your trophies being mounted in Africa as we know our African game intimately and in the unlikely event of trophies being damaged for whatever reason we are able to replace most capes at a minimal or no cost even. Crates for shipping for mounted or raw trophies are custom built on the premises for each consignment in an effort to save our clients unnecessary shipping charges due to oversized crates. We use a reliable shipping company to handle your trophies and to ensure you have a hassle free experience. Visit our Trophy Gallery
